Bun-less Hamburgers for Two

A delicious favorite without the added calories of a bun or bread. Ground beef is an excellent source of protein and iron. Onions have many cancer preventing nutrients. Mushrooms are also nutrient rich as well as low calorie, gluten free, cholesterol free, fat free, and low in sodium.

Ingredients:
1 lb of (preferably) local and grass-fed ground beef
1 sweet onion peeled and sliced
4 oz (approximately) of mushrooms sliced Harvarti cheese
Salt and Pepper (optional)

Make two patties of ground beef. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.  Bake  in 350 oven until desired done-ness.
In the meantime, sauté onion until soft. Remove from pan and keep warm. Sauté the sliced mushrooms until soft and light brown.
Remove burgers from oven and place slices of harvarti cheese on top. Return to oven for several minutes until cheese is melted. Put onions and mushrooms on top. Serve with your favorite side dishes.
