“You normally have to be bashed about a bit by life to see the point of daffodils, sunsets and uneventful nice days.”
Alain de Botton
Isn’t that the truth!
The older I get the more appreciative I am of calm moments and uneventful nice days.
Taking in beautiful landscapes or just sitting quietly can be heavenly.
We are often blind sided by life’s challenges. There are many and dished out to all, regardless.
By surprise or predictable, the in-between moments are when we can breathe.
I try to build up my resiliency reserves during these gifted moments of serenity.
This summer, my goal is to plan for such times. I am making a conscientious effort to list and block out time for repair and rejuvenation.
A trip to the mountains and a trip to the beach are on my list. (Isn’t North Carolina wonderful! I live smack in the middle and can head to the hills or head to the ocean.)
Quite simply, however, sitting on my patio at dusk listening to the birds and owls will suit me just fine too.
How about you…..what would an uneventful nice day look like for you?
Most importantly, I wish you a delightful summer!

Pleasant thoughts Judy! I’ve had many eventful days lately so the quiet of returning to my little camper and the Utah forests seems extra special!
I bet! Enjoy every moment!
Amen! I could have stood and looked out across the Lamar Valley forever. Now that I’m home, the back porch is looking pretty special too.
Ohhh…..love the Lamar Valley! Remind me to tell you our Lamar story. Your backyard is lovely too!
