Did you know that 75% of our flowering plants rely on pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds? Sadly though, our pollinators are on the decline, all over the world.
Called “colony collapse disorder”, scientists continue to theorize over the cause of the continuing bee decline. The widespread use of agricultural pesticides and fungicides, viral pathogens, and parasitic mites are among the possible causes.
Why am I writing to you about bees?
Because, according to a research study from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, one of every three bites of food eaten worldwide depends on pollinators, especially bees.
Without these trustworthy and hard working pollinators, our vegetable and fruit harvests will be on the decline as well, ultimately impacting our health.
-We can love our bees and pollinators!
-We can plant colorful flowers and plants to attract them.
-We can eliminate our use of pesticides in our gardens and yards.
-We can support the efforts of our local beekeepers (Cane Creek Farm).
-We can stay informed and be proactive.

Our home is a NWF certified wildlife habitat. You can do this too!
So, thank you bees!
Please help me spread the BUZZ on bees!
Judes…….
Sent a link to your site to my friend at the coast who is both a Master Gardener and a Bee Keeper. His wife will have to make him aware of this, since he is not online. Thanks for sharing. Jim
Thanks so much, Jim! Would love to know what he thinks. It is a big and important issue that we need to make people aware of. Spread the word!
Love bees! Love what they do for us and how smart they are and how hard they work. Will check out the pollinator challenge. They tend to love my flower garden and it’s fun to see them in action. Buzz…..
For small critters they are very important! Let me know if you do the NWF certification.
