I have been absent but not far! If your inbox is like mine…..it is overloaded. So for this reason I will keep this short and to the point!
And….just to let you know I care. I hope you all are hunkered down and taking good care of yourselves.
There is a lot we cannot control but what we can do is boost our immune systems during this vulnerable time.
One excellent way is to increase our vitamin C intake. Many doctors, clinics, and hospitals agree it is one of the most effective immune boosters of all. Vitamin C reduces oxidative stress from fighting an infection or a virus, and lessons the symptoms and duration.
With some intention you can add more of this vitamin to support the health of your immune system.
Foods that are high in vitamin C include: broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, kale, red and green peppers, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, citrus such as lemons and oranges and grapefruit, kiwi, berries, acerola cherries, mango, cantaloupe, pineapple, and papaya. Did you also know that parsley and thyme are two vitamin C rich herbs? Sprinkle away!
Try to eat a variety of these fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. Eating them raw increases their benefit.
How exciting that strawberry season is around the corner!
I hope you put a big bowl of fruits and vegetables on your kitchen counter and make them accessible to your family as snacks or a main meal.
