Fancy Water, Please!

We had a lot of bridal and baby showers this past summer. Not sure why but there must be something special about 2016!

Summer was hot. Menus included simple fare and cooling foods.

While this may sound silly….my favorite part of the menu was the fancy water I prepared!

Infused water recipes are filling the internet now. Rightfully so.

They are so simple, refreshing, and even elegant.image

One of my standards is water infused with cucumbers slices and mint leaves, perfect for overcoming the thick summer air.

Organic, seasonal, and stress free.

You can’t go wrong with lemon infused water any time of the year. Yellow for a sunny infusion and perhaps just the right color for your table decor.

Citrus season is coming soon. Try thick slices of oranges to get a citrusy infusion and a vitamin C boost.

The sky is the limit. Strawberries when they are plentiful in the spring, watermelon chunks for a summer party, basil water all summer long, and why not blueberries and mint?

Apples are in season now and I have been adding thin slices of Ginger Gold apples to my water. See my previous post on more apple goodness.

Infuse your water overnight, or at least for a couple of hours, to get the full strength of flavors. Glass pitchers highlight the fruits. Add ice (or not) and voila!

Stay hydrated summer, fall, winter, and spring. Fancy water isn’t just for special occasions!
